Starstruck Dance Team Camps began in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1997. At the time I was working with a team there and we were attending university camps. Although there were some advantages, they were not what I wanted for my team. I was looking for a bonding experienc. This wasn't happening when my team was spread around learning different routines. I wanted routines that could be used as learned for football and basketball half times. I didn't like the abrieviated routines that repeated halfway through. I also wanted routines that were challenging and fun for my team, and visually fun to watch for the audiance. After much thought and discussion, I decided to begin a small business and determined to offer those things. Having coached in Wisconsin in the early 80's and still having contacts there, that was where we began to offer our camps. We grew slowly the first few years. In 2001 we relocated to Appleton, Wisconsin, and was able to be much more hands on in the day to day operations. Our business began to grow . Today we have between 10 and 12 staff who conduct the camps. Our staff members have all been on highly successful teams, and they all love dance. They are able to work with teams in the areas of technique as well as team building, because they come from teams who were successful in those areas. We conduct camps in all regions of the state, and receive good reviews from them. We were here when Wisconsin began its adventure into competitive dance teams in the early 80's We have had the opportunity for the past eleven years to work with some of the highly successful teams in the state. Today, Wisconsin has become very competitive both locally and nationally. StarStruck knows Wisconsin teams and their unique style. Our goal is to give you camp routines that are long enough for halftime performances, without repeats. Routines that are performed to upbeat music that is acceptable to both administrations and parents. Routines that the audiance want to stay and watch because they are fun and have lots of energy and changes. From our coaches comments, we have successfully provided that for our camps. We would love the opportunity to work with YOUR team. |
